Small and large ruins
Step 2 - Oradour-sur-Glane
Mémorial 10 juin 1944
Oradour sur Glane was destroyed during the Second World War, on June 10, 1944. This Limousin village has been the scene of a systematic execution on the part of the Waffen SS, which is officially 642 victims. Oradour-sur-Glane was wiped off the map, one afternoon in June, four days after the landing in Normandy. Preserved in a state of ruin, this ghost village remains a witness to a heinous crime ...
Located a few kilometers northwest of Limoges, the place is stunning. The entire
village has been preserved, the tram rails are still in place. Many shells of
cars still resistant to rust, as well as some household items remained in the
houses.
